An existing city in-fill site, occupied by a closed medical clinic built in the 1960's, was cleared to make room for a 64 unit affordable family housing project. After many neighborhood meetings and design charettes the project was able to capture the ambiance of neighboring historical structures.

As part of Daughters of Charity campus, St. Vincent’s Administration Building is more than a business office. It is an intentional reminder of the religious belief that inspired this affordable housing project. The Holy Family Sculpture that welcomes visitors, the historical stained glass window in the office are visible symbols of the faith of which St. Vincent’s is the living expression.
Hacienda de Feliz, Thousand Oaks, CaliforniaHacienda de Feliz

Lauterbach & Associates, Architects was selected by Many Mansions to perform full architectural services for this infill affordable housing project. The site is occupied by a seasonal stream, many old oak trees, and has a sloping topography. These elements were incorporated into the design with great success, making assets out of what had originally been seen by some as liabilities.

Lauterbach & Associates, Architects was selected by Mercy Housing California to perform full architectural services for this affordable senior and family housing project. The St. Vincent's site, formerly a Daughters of Charity school, was annexed into the City of Santa Barbara after an extensive review process. This process involved not only governmental agencies but also the community.
