Ciobanu Home, Palos Verdes, California
Dr. Ciobanu purchased the steep hillside property despite the challenges the site presented in order to have the incredible open view of the ocean and Catalina Island. The architect carefully included the owner's expressed life style features and resolved them on the site and according to the strict regulations imposed by the Palos Verdes Architectural Board of Review.
Sterling Home, Avila Beach, California
Dr. Sterling and his wife wanted a unique house, totally different from anything in their neighborhood. They had two young children and wanted spaces both immediately accessible yet set in such a way as to give them them privacy. They also wanted to bring a lot of light into their home. These design criteria were achieved though a network of skylights, glass block under the counters in the kitchen and other features that made the home cheerful and comfortable.
Ferro/Hyman Home, Camarillo, California
Mrs. Ferro hired us for her second residence in Las Posas Estates. She had expressed the desire to maintain privacy of the residence without being obvious to her large family. She also wanted to have a spectacular entry as we created for the beach residence but this time for a one story home therefore without the help of using a stair in design. Owners' requests were accomplished.
Fiscalini Home, Camarillo, California
Mr. and Mrs. Fiscalini own a property on the hill in Camarillo that presented a number of challenges.
The property has views only visible from the set backs while the view from the buildable area was blocked by a large, two story house. Additionally neighbors resisted a two story house that could have overcome the blocked view for our client. We were conditioned to design a one story house and still give the client the best view possible. This was achieved by placing selected rooms at the two extremes of the pad to receive views while creating an internal pleasant space for other rooms.
