St. Paul's Episcopal Church
Saint Paul's Episcopal Church enlisted the architectural services of Lauterbach & Associates, Architects for additions and improvements to the church's outdoor areas. The redesign of the existing split level patio to replicate the Chartres Cathedral Labyrinth provides a dramatic focal point. In addition, the redesign provides for a gathering place for social events and also a seating area with benches. The design enables guests to either descend the cascading stairs to the lower level or to take the accessible ramp.
The area adjacent to the Parish Hall is used for the larger outdoor church functions. Wooden trellises were added to provide shade and also, along with the stucco-colored exterior concrete bloc, to harmonize with the existing facilities. The architectural style blends with the existing ambiance of the neighborhood.
