E. O. Green Junior High, Oxnard, California
The modernization and expansion of E.O. Green Junior High included extensive renovations of classrooms, a totally refurbished art studio, library and band room, extensive reorganizing of space and improvements to the administrative offices and to the physical education facilities. Additionally, new construction included a new building for a teachers' lounge and work space and a new storage area for the District's maintenance department. In the process the school was both brought up to modern standards and expanded to meet the needs of a larger student body.
Lauterbach & Associates, Architects provided architectural services. The project began with the careful preparation of an architectural program, which involved the teachers as well as the administrators. The construction management company was part to the process early on. The architectural team continued to work closely with the construction management as well as continuing the close working relationship with the client throughout design and construction.
The construction, for which the firm provided contract administration support, was done using multiple prime contracts working under the construction management company.
Lauterbach & Associates, Architects worked closely with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) to obtain timely approvals and with State of California Department of Education to assist the District securing funds.
