Fiscalini Residence, Camarillo

The challenge for this lot was to capture the views around a large two story home build downhill and blocking the entire pad available for construction and making sure our design would not block the view the uphill home enjoyed by building a one story house. The solution was to concentrate the view rooms at the two ends of the house and place the central spaces exposed to an interior court originally designed to have a pond with waterfalls and seating areas. The pool deck and outside family activities were placed in the back where the view was free of obstructions. At one end the owners opted to expose to the view the family room and kitchen and place the living room and dining towards the pool with partial access to the view. At the other end, at the front the owners decided to expose their master suite to that view. The court was accessed through an entry arch that provided privacy from unsolicited visitors.
