Lauterbach & Associates, Architects was commissioned by Bill Thompson to provide the architectural services for the development of a commercial/retail center on a corner site in Thousand Oaks. The project was planned to proceed in stages, as it involved remodeling, renovations and new construction. The first building is a remodel and addition to an old commercial facility. It was completely redesigned and it received an 1,800 square foot addition. The building is a multi-tenant unit with an anchoring restaurant. A patio along the side takes advantage of the mild weather and fits the Mediterranean style design.

The second building occupies the site of an old gas station. Continuing the Mediterranean theme an outdoor plaza with a fountain and surrounding palm trees complement the building while expanding the customer area and providing a sense of place. The extensive site work necessary to improve access proved to be one of the pivotal factors in the success of the plaza. Both buildings were wholly leased out before construction was completed.
